The most effective way to catch a thief

I couldn't help but laugh when I heard of this hilarious story. I was told of a thief that went for early morning hunt in a certain village. He found himself in a farm and began harvesting the corn in the farm. While filling the bags he had with him, the owner of the farm happened to come to the farm at that hour. On seeing the thief harvesting his farm, the gentle man greeted the thief and behaved as though he was just passing by. After exchange of greetings, the man begged the thief for a corn. The thief now feeling relaxed not knowing that the man was the owner of the farm he was harvesting handed him some corn. Instead of reaching out to the corn that was handed to him, the man descended on the the thief like thunder!! Need not to tell you what happened after that.
